Classic Uneal Tournament

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone here plays oldschool UT.

I still think it is THE best FPS of all time...intense, nail-biting action that nailed every fundamental of the genre on the head.

I would be interested in joining a server if anyone has/had one running

I have the original Unreal Tournament game and Unreal 2 the awakening, as well as UT2004. Of the 3, the original UT was and is the best to me. Hel I might just put the others up for sale. lol

Same here, UT is THE BEST FPS end of story, include the horrible subsequent releases of it. Used to play it all of the time, sadly have lost my copy

I'm sure there'll still be some servers out there for it though

fwiw - I believe that ut2k7 is going back to its roots. Its movement is being toned down from its current 'bouncy' arcady feel to something closer to the original ut.

Actually the response from Dex was the same as yours when I talked to them about it. Some went so far as saying they wouldn't buy it if the movement changed. But looking from the other side, the gulf between the casual players and the hardcore is too great.

How is UT04 different from previous titles? (I've only played 04) Is it just the 'bob' effect? ... you can disable that! Or is it the way it shoots/aims?

I don't know myself. ut2k4 is my first ut experience, except for the original unreal game which I played single player.

I randomly came across this thread, and was wondering if you guys had a UT99 server that you play on, or whether you just all played wherever?

I'm only 19, but I assume that means I can still play with you guys. :P
