I know its a little bit dated, but I cant compare another game to United Offensive. Many many happy (and frustrated hours) spent at local LAN's and online with this game. I still remember the great days when CTF ran 24/7 on the GA servers, then after tea everyone would jump on to Base Assault. Ahhhh those were the days

UO is great but it seems to be falling from favour unfortunately.

I must say that the first 3 generations of COD are hard to separate for multplayer enjoyment. UO is great because of the tanks, jeeps and artillery and is a nose in front of COD.

COD2 is growing on me and, probably because I'm playing it more, I would say gives more enjoyment now.

COD4 and 5 multiplayer games are disappointing. COD 5 in particular is not good at all in multiplayer. It's just an arcade shooter and not at the same high level as the earlier COD WWII games.

The solo game is absolutely great and I just wish the authors had followed the single player format for the MP game. The SP seems to be great WWII sim and may just have it's nose in front of UO.

*My 5 cents worth*

very true, BUT, a well configed server can make all the difference with this particular game
reduce the spam, perks etc etc

Perks and unlocks felt like a cheesy gimmick in COD 4 and they still feel like a cheesy gimmick in COD 5.

COD, UO and COD 2 were fairly tight, the more recent series feel sloppier, spammier, more arcadey, more... I don't know, but having numbers floating up from people when you land a kill tells me that the designers for the latter series aren't interested in making the kind of game I want to play.
