Steam/Anthology Unreal Gold online issue (version mismatch error)

Unreal Anthology is a boxset which contains the following fully patched games.

Unreal Gold (Unreal + Return to Na Pali (expansion))
Uneal II: The Awakening
Unreal Tournament Game of the year Edition
Unreal Tournament 2004 Editors Choice Edition

Unfortionately there is an issue with this pack. Anyone who wants to play online with Unreal Gold from the Unreal Anthology boxset or the Steam equivalent, The Unreal Deal Pack will probably encounter a version mismatch error and be unable to play online. This also includes playing with the Steam bought Unreal Gold pack as well.

This patch fixes the Network problem that UnrealGold user that have the Unreal Anthology boxset will encounter. This patch fixes the online mismatch with UnrealI.u and UnrealShare.u After installing this patch, you will be able to join 99% of the current online servers.

The patch is not backwards compatible with unpatched UnrealGold Anthology servers. Admins that want to run an UnrealGold Anthology server are advise to use this patch also, to maintain compatabillity.

The patch you may need is AnthologyUnrealGoldPatchV1.0 which is sitting under the UnrealGold section.
(you don't need any others)

Rather than just install this patch I first recommend you back up the two files that it replaces so you can swap them around if you happen to get a mismatch error after installation. This will give you greater freedom with entering different version servers. You only need this patch if you want to play on most of the online servers with an Anotholgy install or a Steam install. You do not need this patch to play on a server created from a default Anthology/Steam install.

This makes things quite messy for those who want to play multiplayer.
(both versions say they are 226 which causes further confusion)

Hey Rog69 it's Whacks server only has deathmatch set up atm if you see him in xfire ask him for the password. I'm at work atm and don't have server IP will post later. we played last night had a blast
