Thumbs up Frontlines: Fuel of War

Seen a few TOG around the servers, so just thought I'd drop by and let you know the game is still kicking.

You can check it out over at the new Aussie Community Site here.

Aus Frontlines

See you on the Frontline soldiers.

Hello, and Welcome to the TOG forums.

We had a Division here for a while but most have moved on to other games.
It's good to still see a few playing
Thanks for the AUS link!

Almost tempted... Although I've got a million other games taking up what little time I've got as it is.

Good to see/hear that the recent patches have fixed it up. One day I'll give it a crack

Now if only there was an active European community, I'd gladly reinstall FFoW!

So what patch is it up to?

man I loved the ideas but poor execution + ADHD (joke ) = EXPENSIVE PAPERWEIGHT

Also you all do realise that this game is now 1 year old and its only just been fixed supposedly ?

I might have a squiz on tuesday after I DL all the patches again

Wow - this game still sux.

Thought I'd give it the benefit of the doubt and reinstall it. Firstly - two DVD's?? Seriously?? For an FPS using the Unreal engine?? Anyway - takes forever to install, but that's ok. Then it's time to patch. Ok, I see we're up to 1.3.0 - so off to Internode I go.

I see the patch... no, wait - I see several options for the patch... Looking closer, I see that it's only a 1.2.0 -> 1.3.0 patch - no full patch available Now THAT sux arse.

Then I see there's seven different versions for each incremental patch... SEVEN! And seeing as I bought mine online - there's really no telling where my copy originated from - and, so it seems, there's no way to find out. The only option is through regedit - c'mon, they didn't factor this in?? So even in regedit there's nothing showing it's region. Sux arse.

So I look through the list of a million patch options - and find the likely candidate - all -> 1.1.0... should fit the bill right?? Nope. So then I try to install the 1.0.1 patch - nope, then another region one... nope.

Ok, seeing as I did what was the logical thing, and got all of the relevant downloads before I started installing them, I've now downloaded over a gig... and NONE of them work. Good thing I'm with Internode here! So I've tried the usual approach - didn't work. I've tried the illogical approach - still didn't work - then I checked the main site - absolutely no help whatsoever - it says to make sure you have 1.2.0 installed before proceeding - no help with getting there at all. Then I try a the local Frontlines link posted in the OP here - regedit help?? Didn't tell me anything - and to tell you the truth - I just can't be stuffed.

How they couldn't manage to have a single patch file for updates, I'll never know - and the whole region thing is so completely screwed up - it's got a long-term online gamer stumped. Thanks KAOS - you're a winnah.
