I was a big fan of the Pirates trilogy. I think he's got a lot of creative wiggle-room with Bioshock. Very morbid and frightening game (I'm a sissy!). Aside from the psychotic bosses and such, I don't remember too much humor in the game. Maybe Verbinski picked up on it too.

No joke man, if Bio scared the dickens outta ya, you'll be pissing you panties with Deadspace. Or Fear 2, more so DS though.

I wasn't a fan of this game to be truthful...BUT I loved the art direction. It has such scope for being transformed into a movie. The location and back story is just sensational and hopefully is the "shape of things to come".

I tried the Bioshock demo but it didn't grab me. I think I'll get the game now it's cheaper for a look-see and give it a good run. Then I can compare it to the movie

I couldn't get into deadspace at all. Everything that happened made me think "You know, this would have worked so much better if they scrapped this gimmicky over the sholder crap and made it first person". I have sunk many hours into it but alas, I just can't love it.

Bioshock and Fear were both awesome though. Bioshock is more of a physological thriller, compared to F.E.A.R which used more of a shock horror approach. Personally, I liked the way Bioshock did things better, it made me think a lot more about the story they were telling. The spill over from the past systemshock games was very evident there.

I'm playing through Deadspace at the moment and I was enjoying it until I got to the point where I'm shut in a room with a ton of monsters spawning along with an indistuctable monster, but yes it would work better with a first person view. The sound is just amazing in the game too.

I loved Bioshock (SS2 is my favorite game of all time) but the final couple of levels were rubbish, it felt like they didn't really know where to go with the story so they just tacked on an escort mission and a boss fight, I expected more to be honest. I'm still playing through it again though

Some people aren't happy about this.
Time will tell if it works

28 weeks was a good solid film, should do fine although its a different genre, I wonder how they'll approach it and if they'll do it well. Hope so.
