[ArmA2] Bizarre...online experience

I'd definitely be up for a "Training" night. I never played the original arma multi and this confuses the hell out of me.


I've also got a full meg upload bandwidth so I'd be happy to host.

It wouldn't be a dedicated server, but I have 4 cores so that should help.

I whipped up an XP virtual machine on my VMware box, copied the ARMA2 steam directory over, installed the DX in the sub-dir for DirectX and put the ARMA2 dedicated server in there. Came up a treat.

When I tried running the dedicated server and ARMA2, it would crash. I don't know if you could host it in game while playing or you need to host it separately. As said before, never played the original ARMA multiplayer before. Lot to learn though.

yea...i got the same problem ..cant run the server & play the game on the same PC .
haven't got a spare PSU to rig up a 2nd pc..to test the viability of running PC & server on the same router.

Wiill mention... Gamespace server running HOLD maps ... when its full.. its Team Vs Team to capture towns / villages in order of sequnce...have been in some good games ...only about 5-6 HOLD servers world wide ... but..its were i hide ..theres an active admin , & hes is tweaking it still & talking to the players to decern whats working & whats not.
Good giggles tho.
