As much as I so dearly love Mechwarrior games (remmeber buying the demo copy of Mechwarrior 2 on a 2.5 inch disc before it went back to the drawing board way back in 1992 i think it was) I'm reserving my enthusiasm due to the pedigree of the company making it. Piranha Games doesn't have the best track record of quality games from what I can see and being that they were responsible for Transformers 2 (blah) I'm trying not to get too excited (yet).

This is why the TOG community is such a bonus I reckon, I had waited years for a game only to wind up disappointed. Just by making a post here, Immediately you get good insight to balance enthusiasm, and the correct info. to form an opinion.

Yeah... but you know how 'movie games' go. This is their IP and as yet with no publisher they have complete control.

Yeah, the publisher they get for the game will probably have a lot of influence what the studio can do with it. It'll all depend on how long they get before the publisher wants to see a product on store shelves and what kind of a budget they get to bring in the right people.
