Just curious, does anyone around here ever bash away at this game?

I'm really new to the whole online gaming thing, to tell the truth, and only just grabbed myself a copy of the orange box. Loving TF2.

But yeah - I managed to organise an old school LAN just recently, and we all decided to have a bash at HL2 DM, and we had a blast!

Killing people by crushing them with cars, hitting them with toilet seats, pinning them to the wall with crossbow rods. Blocking incoming rockets with filing cabinets. Awesome.

It didn't seem like a fully competitive game, like TF2, (we spent a fair bit of time messing around, but in a good way) however it was still a great way to chill between other games.

So yeah - anyone around here ever bash away at this game?

tis been a while since i loaded up HL2DM.. last time i played it, me and a mate where making cannons to shoot the computers out of..

Love it and still fire it up occasionaly. Still quite a few peeps on the public servers playing as well.

I've got it (as would I suspect a fair few TOGgers from the Steam divisions), but haven't played it in ages because I don't know of any "decent" servers (outside private LANs, as you played) - by "decent", I refer to the way the server's run, the maps played and the company (other players' attitudes, etc.).

Hurricane Bot version 1.1.3 - HurricaneBot

tis a bot that works for HL2DM. only found it due to me goin dedicated server mad with my file server here.. aint had the chance to test it yet.. but from wha ive read, the bot skill is incredibly high..

sorry for doubble post, but no edit button..

just did a 30 second test then.. the bots dont use any physics objects, just the guns.. but that doesnt stop you from using em

Yep the public servers can or are normally a haven for some poor form by a portion of people that play...that's where "player mute" comes in handy. I find once the fools are muted, the pace of the game doesn't really give much time for reading some of the crap that gets typed in game. Even with the idiots i still enjoy a run ....
