Ned,
I think what killed Vietcong was the slow engine and the launch of the Battlefield series. Vietcong was a game that I really enjoyed, although it made me upgrade my hardware to enjoy it. I went from a AMD 1800 to an AMD 2600 and from GeForce 4MX video to an AIT Radeon 9800 pro 128 video card to play the game at a decent frame rate. Had the game been designed on the Unreal engine, it might have taken off like a rocket.

One of the patch releases sorted the fps problem... ran great after it's release for me!
The game had everything in my opinion including! * Great single play * Various multi player gametype ranging from Deathmatch to Carture the Flag to ATG (Assault Team Game) where specific objective were added. * and co-op  If Vietcong 2 has this I'll be happy  ...might cya online

If it has co-op, I'll be looking into it. I played the VC1 game in SP mode but tired of the tunnels. I really wanted to finish the missions but those tunnels got real boring real fast. Shame.
Played MP for a bit but with all that foliage, everything tended to be close-quarters. Not my style. I think it didn't take off cause you couldn't jump around like a bunny.

LoL... did you use the torch?? My brother spent a month in the tunnels! He kept phoning me asking how the f**k to get out of them. I was over at his house one day and realised he wasn't using the torch :P He didn't know there was one to use

Hehe - yes. I used the torch.
After I finished the first tunnel mission I thought "pheew. Glad that's over." and then the CO sent me on another tunnel mission straight after. Shelved it after that.I'll watch the reviews for #2 but.

I was a big fan of the first one.. even though I got lost in the tunnels for days
 still I found my way out and finished the game.just played the MP demo, I wont be buying it based on that pity though I had high expectations for it. I hope SP rocks
