Default Shattered Horizon - Futuremark making an a Zero-G Shooter

.
Website: Shattered Horizon

In game footage below, not sure if it's actual gameplay though...

I'm not sure what to make of this. For a trailer it's pretty slow, for gameplay it rather trippy. It's a new IP which is always good to see and it's defiantly a different style of shooter - could be a lot of fun!

It defiantly seems to have a unique atmosphere, or lack thereof.

Sadly for the XP shippers, it's going to be a DirectX 10 only title.

Pretty snazzy. Sharp images, but I hope the whole game isn't played in space like that. the lack of sound effects would really be a pain trying to figure out where everyone was and what was going on. Still it could be fun for a level here and there in singleplayer especially. I lol'd at the magnetic boots trick walking underneath each other.

I think it's a multiplayer only FPS and set around set pieces of the moon which in the future has a small segment of it broken off and shattered into space by some calamity. I think they explain it on the website but I got distracted by the screenshots.

Looks fun, especially the floating around and walking upside down and stuff..but I reckon it would do ya head in if ya played it for too long you would be like "wait..am I on the roof or the floor?Hey Ma, Get off the dang roof!"

But either way it looks like its a fun little concept and I would be happy to give it a shot..so long as you can actually hear stuff AND there is some inside fighting like fighting inside a space station or something.

Its kinda like Star Wars.

Sure, you can't really hear the ships zipping near you or the blasts zipping past your cockpit. But you do in the movie, cause its a bit boring otherwise.

Its like a silent film haha, it would be a crazy concept if their was no sound at all and you basically had to work with a radio talking to your team mates to pin point enemies...but i have this strange feeling a bullet wouldnt go right in space haha..ya know gravity and all that..or in this case..zero gravity..its just gonna float away

Ballistic firearms should work in a vacuum, explosives or pyrotechnics contain their own oxidizer by definition so combustion would still happen generating force by which to accelerate a ballistic projectile. The difficult part to deal with is the recoil. Remember your high-school physics: Each force generates an equal and opposite force. Of course, your mass will be much greater than the mass of a bullet but the recoil forces generated form a ballistic weapon would cause lots of problems in unsupported zero gravity environments.

Not sure if this game takes that into account or not, would be awesome if it did through.

wow that was quick

And yeah that would be pretty funny shooting and just seeing ya character do a backflip due to the recoil
