Default Created XFire TOG Borderlands community (in-game msg possible to make contact easier)

How about we setup a TOG Borderlands community within XFire?
If you don't know what XFire is; its like any messenger app, but specifically for games. It keeps a time counter of every game played, you can instant message all your friends no matter what game they're currently playing.
It also support immediate server joining for supported games.

Especially the messenger part is VERY handy in a game like Borderlands which lacks a decent lobby or matchmaking service.
If you message a friend he will get a popup in-game and you can communicate right away. Should make getting in contact with nice people to play (instead of ninja looters) much easier than to fill your friendslist in-game with hundreds of aliases...

I am perfectly willing to setup and admin the list.
In fact I've setup a placeholder already.

Short name: togborderlands
Full name: [TOG]The Older Gamers Borderlands Community

If this is not allowed on one's own, please drop a note and I'll delete it, ASAP.
Please contact me on my Xfire handle to apply:

If the need is there I also have means to host a Voice over IP server permanently for Borderlands. Mumble or Ventrilo would be my choice.

EDIT: Just for the record: I've contacted Nestaron with details about this little endeavor. Until I get the green light to go ahead with this, expect some delays in acceptance...
I really don't want to jump the queue here and all this is just honest enthousiasm.

EDIT2: Nestaron is ok with the creation of this community on XFire, so all applications are welcome!

Good idea mate, the more ways there are for us to make contact the better (especially for Euro-TOGers, as we are spread a little more thinly.....)

Sent an application through XFire.

Couldn't you just use steam for that?

You can add the retail DVD shortcut to steam and it'll use the steam overlay in game.

I noticed just now that the Steam system also supports 'Groups' just like the 'Communities' in XFire.
Still, I think both groups can co-exist because we need to have the widest range we can use to get in touch with eachother, don't you agree?
The Steam group and the XFire group would idealy be merged, but since not everyone uses Steam nor XFire I think having both is ideal for now...
You can even run each progam alongside the other so you will be able to communicate with both groups in-game.

There's no harm in it......I have Steam running when I play a Steam game......but I have XFire running when I play any game......so I have joined both groups.
