[Borderlands] Hidden Barcodes: Easter Eggs?

In the Burning Heresy quest (Middle of No-where board) I noticed on the scriptures there are some, or maybe the same, square barcodes. I've also seen them at phone shops where they offer deals or somesuch where you use your phone-camera to capture/read the barcode for some benefit or other. Look in a telstra shop and you'll see one that says "Heres one for free!"

I have no idea what they get for you or where else you'd find them but I wouldn't be surprised if a snapshot of your screen could net you one of those benefits. Assuming you have the right phone plan.

I tried to get a screen-shot but BL crashed when I alt-tabbed out.

Don't know what I'm talkin' about? Neither do I. If you can fill me/us in, then by all means, educate us/me.

You're talking about a QR Code - if your camera-phone has a "barcode reader", chances are it's really QR Codes that it can read. Apparently popular in Japan, which is why Telstra's been playing with them here.

There was a post on the Gearbox site where some of the QR Codes in the game had been decoded (really simple stuff, like Gearbox's Web site, etc.).

I noticed that "Moleculor", who posted about the .INT edits has a QR code for an avatar. quite clever.

I have found a post listing Secrets and Easter Eggs though. while I was searching for the QR codes.

The QR code is a little down the page and kinda anti-climactic. But also what I thought it might be.
