...on Steam, to Aussies or NZers. Try getting to the Borderlands page and get the message:

It has been that way for a few days. Anyone have any info as to why this has occured?

Jig's on the case, but without an outcome yet - likely due to the weekend in the states I imagine.

I've heard rumours that it has something to do with the disparity between retail and steam prices - as "no-one" is buying the PC version in-store....

Stuff the rip-off merchants i say if that's the case!

trouble is the retailers are BUYING it for alot more then it was on steam... if there are rip-off merchants in the equation... it's gotto be 2k game or the australian disties for 2k...

"I am sorry but this game is no longer available for purchase on Steam in these countries. If you have any questions, please contact the publisher."

Speaking of this, anyone noticed the incredible difference between L4D2 retail and digital? Gamedude offer it at the special price of $82AUD. Or you could buy it on Steam and pay $49.95USD which amounts to about $52AUD!

I don't get it. The aussie dollar is really strong right now? Do the retailers just delay their adjustments to the changing dollar to make a few more bucks? This must kill them in lost sales!

I'm not sure blaming the retailers is the right target - if they could sell it to us at say $60 and still make enough margin to pay their bills, they'd probably do it; I'd be looking further up the food chain to see just who is really gouging us (and I mean that)...

You're right - with the AUD doing so well at present, none of the past "exchange rate" excuses are valid.

I agree with Unknown. They are trying to make enough to stay open, I expect that if they reduce it, they may as well not sell it.
