Hard Call

Hail shipmates,
With the opertumity to return to the playing field, I am looking for a good shooter game. I know, a concept best left to experience. Nevertheless, I am forced to decide which game to get and ask for some assist. I have COD MW2 but it feels like an arcade mmo, perhaps I have not played it with an organized group: it just seems full of kids. I have AA3 yet have become more or less bored with the limit of map size and numbers. I have just downloaded demo of OP2 and remember the days of the original and a good crew to play with. So, here is my question: any recomendations on which game to get? OP2 are ARMA. Regardless of the action I really would like to get togeather with an organized group to do some serious playing. Thanks for the time.

Any particular preferences on that FPS Seabeast? I mean, would an older game like Team Fortress 2 suffice or would you prefer something with more realistic graphics, perhaps released more recently. Also are you after a co-op experience or multiplayer?

Get Flashpoint 2 if your after tactical coop ... I am at work ATM but when I get back count me in for a game.

Arma 2 in my opinion is pretty crap OPF2 owns it.

OP2 when you get a good game of people interested in carrying out the mission properly to me is very rewarding, I get right into it tho some missions are done without even pulling the trigger heaps fun infiltration.

Also OP2 is alot more stable then Arma2

I tryed the demo on op2 and i am not sure my machine will operate it playable. I did a check on "canurunit" and it showed me as good but in game the controls were slow to respond. I hate to drop money on it and have the same happen in game. I am runing a Nvidia 8500GT with a AMD Atholon 64 x2 dual core processr 4400+ for 2.31 GHz with 2 gig ram 32 bit. Is it my pc or the demo? will the game run better if i drop dime on it?

I did all the BF seiries and loved it but now its fulll of hacks. I would play with stickmen if I could find a game that disallowed hacks. I guess what I am lookin for is a tech kind of game where big teams can play and co-op avaliable for more personal times...if you know what I mean. I do enjoy AA3 but even it, as new as it is, has hackin incoming. I been considering doing the platform system deal but alas, I am old and I know them kids can find buttons faster than me lol. I am giving COD MW2 a fair shot but damn, I yearn for an honest game. That probibly dont help my question much but it is where I am looking.

TOG has a large BF2142 Division that is very active, and there servers are moderated in house rather well, if you're interested I can drag a few of them over to give you the details?

Elsewise, there's a game due out in February called Global Agenda that might have what you're looking for. Is offers singleplayer, co-op, and multiplayer matches for a once off price. In addition it also has extended co-op and a persistant world territory control game on the optional subscription. Its Team Fortress 2 influenced in terms of gameplay, but with a uniquely spy-fi (sci-fi) look.

Alternatively you might try something like Section 8, while some of us on this side of the pond h ave had trouble finding games in our neighbourhood I imagine it would be easier over in the United States.

Hrm regarding sys spec if u unsure maybe wait ... I've been blessed with a beast, bu I would agree there will be a level of fun missing with reduced settings

Hey Seabeast.
Reoh pointed me in your direction.

Alas all games online wil have hacks and cheaters fortunatley the 2142 TOG division runs a masssive 48 player server which rotates maps and gametypes. It is moderated by a great team of around 12 differant Squad captains from all over Oz. This means that there is generally at least one admin on all the time so if there are any gripes you can easily contact one of the admins.

If your a full TOG member jump into TS and if there is a admin on they will also be able to get you a spot on the server if it is full.
