Sctratch that. GET IT NOW!!! not 13 bucks but only 10! (how do cap lock numbers...Oh I know) TEN BUCKS !!!

Never mind I was wrong. that was just the website. not steam store.

Website was convinced by billing address was wrong.

So for those who have purchased the DLC already (looking at you FB), do the kills in the arena count towards (a) challenges and (b) proficiency. I've seen mixed reports, some saying no, some saying yes.

And where is the bank accessible from, only outside the arena, or in the major towns also?

I've only had a brief glimpse of it, during my meal break from work. I'll tell you these things.

First is a tip. Right click on 'Borderlands' in your games list and get the cd-key from the menu for it. The pain in the arse that it is, it will be the first thing asked of you.

Now the things you wanna know.
The stash is non-transferable. No swappsies between your alts. It starts with 12 slots in a vendor type interfaces. (It's the claptrap in the tux behind the cashiers counter). The other vending machines have more slots available. At a price. I paid close to a 100 million for level 10 storage. Some forty -odd slots. Tip: buy in bulk.

I don't know if the kills count towards challenges but I can confirm the Underdome is not without some xp gains. There is a bulletin board with your first challenge already there.
There are 3 doors that I saw leading to, I'm supposing, different Arenas. Your first mission has 3 check-boxes. Maybe they correlate.

The only other thing I've noticed is a small Shrine to the 3rd Husband, Marcus.

And that's all I found out on my lunch break.

I'll find out about proficiencies when I get home.

Kills count toward challenges - yes.

Kills count toward proficiency - haven't seriously checked, but I don't think so (also recall hearing Gearbox devs indicate that this is deliberate otherwise you'd power-level so fast).

The bank is accessible only from The Underdome, the lobby for the three arenas. You fast-travel to it just as you would to Jakob's Cove.

BTW, for those keeping track... game patch 1.1.0 was released to coincide with the first DLC (Zombie Island), patch 1.2.0 was released to coincide with DLC2 (Mad Moxxi). Apparently the list of fixes from patch 1.2.0 is:

Still working on levelling my proficiencies back up to where they were before getting wiped recently. At least it shouldn't happen to me again now.

Thankfully the skill points came back after a couple of game restarts and I had some spare artifacts on another character to replace all but the level 6 incendiary I'd had.
