Exclamation [Borderlands] Reminder - Keep Backups!

A reminder to keep backups of your saved game/character files, to guard against crashes and Borderlands bugs; a number of TOGgers have already lost skill points, weapon proficiencies, maximum ammunition counts (eg., being able to previously carry 9 grenades but now only able to carry 7 or 8), elemental mods, grenade/shield/class mods, etc.

Don't let it happen to you!

There's a common bug with the new DLC which causes you to lose your equipped shield, class mod and grenade mod.

If your gear is missing after a fight, a supposed workaround is to go back to the main Underdome area, equip any shield, class and grenade mod then exit and restart the game. Apparently this will make your missing gear reappear in your inventory. If you don't do this and just exit, however, that gear will be gone for good

But as Unk said, backup your save games, especially if you plan on playing the new DLC.

For Win XP anyway, not sure about Vista/7

I never had any problems before, but have missed out some entitled items with this new DLC.
Two of us finished the first challenge quest. A few hours work. The reward for that was shown as a inventory expansion. We were playing on new characters, about level 18 so had only ever got one of the expansions before. We both had full inventories (15 items), and neither of us was given the reward. In normal gameplay you are given the item, even if it takes you past your current inventory max (16/15 items).
Nothing we can do about that now, it is a lost opportunity. Can't redo the quest.
I don't know if the inventory being full was our issue, but I would suggest you sell off some junk before doing the hand in. Just in case.

I'll need to go back and double-check, but I think the icon for the inventory expansion might be a misnomer (it might be a generic icon used for multiple purposes) - after completing the short tournament (5 rounds of 5 waves each) through all three arenas, I got an extra skill point to spend rather than an inventory expansion.

Ah - here's confirmation:

Gearboxity - Gearbox Software Community Portal - New DLC Announcement: Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot!

Also remember that Moxxi's arenas scale to your character, not the playthrough - so even on playthrough 1 you can be facing level 50/51 enemies if that's the level of your character!

Discovered the same thing tonight BlackIce. The quest hand in clearly (to me and you as well it seems) indicates in both image and text that an inventory expansion comprises a part of the reward - but it doesn't appear. So it's either a bug that you don't get it or they've re-used a graphic incorrectly on the quest screen.

Perhaps if you missed a claptrap or had not progressed the whole way through before palying moxxi's, you would get a backback sdu. Like the claptrap rescues in playthrough 2.
