Release date was officially announced at gamescom today, set for February 9th 2011. Of course that's Valve time so who knows when we'll really see it.

Having never played the original I happened to come across a preview for Portal 2 and thought I really needed to play the first one. So I bought the Orange Box off Steam seeing as I wanted the rest of the Half Life series as well and got so addicted I pretty much played it non-stop until I finished it.
Cannot wait for Portal 2!
