Ok, that's more than I wanted to know about Randy and his missus.

The preview report sounds somewhat positive.

Quote:
It incorporates many genre updates from the last 12 years, such as regenerative health and Call of Duty-style zoom (aim down sights) with the left trigger.
Iron sights ?? Didn't know CoD had pioneered those.
Quote:
Gearbox employs a lot of depth of field effects. Elements slam into focus when you concentrate on them, leaving the rest of the screen blurry.
Don't know if I'm alone, but this sort of thing normally annoys me, and causes me eye strain more often than not.

Depends on who you ask. Technically, Wolfenstein 3D & Blake Stone were the first ones.

Call of Duty was the first "aim to bring up ironsights" commercial game to do it, but like most FPS game innovations it had been used in a handful of different mods for about 18 months prior to it showing up in an off-the-shelf game.

Depends on how it's done and how extreme it is. A lot of games really over-do it. Not sure it really works in FPS games to be honest. Aiming in games like Crysis and Modern Warfare always felt a bit weird because of it, yet I believe Farcry 2 and a lot of pseudo 3rd person shooters also use it a bit and can't recall being bugged by it in those games specifically.

It'll be like the end of an era when DNF comes out, we need another game to step up and take the mantle of being the joke of the industry by spending years in development hell, maybe Valve can help out with HL2E3

The ManaBar in Brisbane: Mana Bar :: Australia's First Video Game Bar will be having a Duke Nukem Forever event on the 16th of October with live playable code.

Heh, I was chatting to Yug last weekend at the 48H game challenge and he was happily gloating about being the only place in Australia to have it and forcing all the journos to fly up to brizvegas. He hated how Brisbane was always overlooked for these kind of press events when he was running the Australian Gamer website.

Steam Borderlands Owners to Get Duke Demo Access.

Quote:
While it was announced only Borderlands Game of the Year edition owners would be granted access to the Duke Nukem Forever First Access club (ie Duke Nukem Forever demo), it appears Steam users who hold the original Borderlands in their library will also have access to the exclusive demo when it's finally made available.
