The difficulty with MOH:T1 is that a second studio was brought in for the multiplayer. So the multiplayer bears very little resemblance to the singleplayer. Crazy.

The multiplayer portion was built by DICE the Swedes of the "Battlefield Franchise" fame. This multiplayer portion will probably have the Frostbite physics engine that was very popular for BC2.

About the only singleplayer experience DICE has ever had was with the Bad Company line of games. So it was probably best to hand it off to another game developer. Besides it'll decrease the development cycle by having each game studio work on its portion of the game. Instead of one game developer take 2 to 3 years on their own to complete the game title.

Recalling originally EA felt slighted by the success of MW2 in retail by "Infinity Ward". So MoH was their response to this old grudge match with the folks that created the "Call of Duty" franchise. (at Infinity Ward) But as fate would have it Activision got greedy in bonus pay with the creators of MW2 and "Call of Duty" series. Where EA is now bank rolling in part a new game studio called "Respawn Entertainment" for Vince Zampella and Jason West.

yea I played it for the 4 days it was up, and I gotta say I really liked it....I liked the small map better, because of the snipe fest on the mountain map, but I still had lots of fun...

I am seriously considering getting this...

I played the beta and completely disliked it. It felt like the CoD series but just tackier and the maps were terrible. The game degenerated into a sniperfest on every map with the spawn being camped constantly and due to the fact that everything looks identical colourwise you cant pick the sniper til he moves, if he moves. Very disappointing and certeinly not worth buying for me. I will be waiting for Black ops.

Snipers? The last patch seemed to have fixed that problem

if you can get a go of someone's retail version and take a second look it would be worth your while.
