What makes match ammunition more accurate? - Yahoo! Answers

I had to check what it meant.. Ahh it is higher quality ammo which is more accurate!

Match ammo or some times refered to as green tips is the reference to progi's (the actual bullet)
When they make a new batch of progis they make a cast and use the moulds to make bullets , as time goes by the cast wear down and inperfections creep into the bullets being made ..wether its deformaty or tiny tears along the bullets surface ..of which can alter the way a bullet will travel in flight.
so usally the 1st couple thousand bullets are set aside as sniper ammo or match grade ammo.
As they are near perfect ammo.
So its more reliable and accurate.
That is my understanding of match grade ammo.

I buy stock factory ammo for all mine as i don't reload and can't justify the extra cost at the counter when it comes to vermin control.

I figure that a bore sighted rifle firing a projectile at around 2-3 thousand ft/s...usually wont miss. If my theory fails (and it has) then I've only ever got myself to blame.

As far as 'match shooting' goes, where it really counts...sure then one would go the extra mile seeking an edge.

I did play HC MOH for a bit ..and found if you stick to the support choice , your bullets will hit hell hard regardless of range ...not to mention the insane amount of points you use to get ...havent played since the patch ..as ive been busy.
