Default Dead Island

Dead Island - an FPS developed by Techland, published by Deep Silver.

Quote:
It is an open-ended game, centered on the challenge of survival on a zombie-infested island. The game uses a first-person perspective. However, the developers are claiming that the game will be far beyond a typical first-person shooter experience, mainly due to a bigger emphasis on melee combat, role-playing elements and a clear focus on story-telling.

Gameplay
-The game features a sandbox style gameplay on a tropical island.
-The zombie style and the story are massively influenced by George A Romero's movies.
-The game is focused on melee combat, the player can pick up almost anything and use it as a weapon.
-There are multiple playable characters.
-4 Player drop in/out Co-Op

Dead Island

The game is run on a new Chrome Engine 5. Some Chrome Engine 4 games that have been released are Sniper: Ghost Warrior and Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. Also the to-be-released Call of Juarez: The Cartel.

Wow...

That's a superb looking video - great story right there too. Exceptional engine use, and... just wow.

The real shame is I hate Zombie games

That trailer is deeply moving for a zombie killing game.

After re-watching that trailer I'm thinking we may not see this game in Australia (ie. in the game stores).

Guessing here (always dangerous when we're talking about the ACB and what decisions they'll reach), it would be RC'd for pretty much exactly the same reasons as the uncensored version of L4D2.

Oh well, at least we'll always have the Minecraft version:

I concur. It's just . . . wow . . . and the music is incredible as well.

Too bad the game can't possibly live up to the trailer.

EDIT: Here's a link for the music without all the sound effects, for those who found it as enjoyable as I did.

I agree!

Here's some of the story regarding the trailer..

Quote:
“We set out to create a rather unique trailer concept that would focus on delivering emotion and atmosphere while transporting the key elements and features of Dead Island. With the help of Axis and the great collaboration between our cinematic Director, Anton Borkel and his team and Axis’ own Stuart Aitken, we ended up creating something that was a breathtaking combination of pictures, story and music which formed an atmosphere of intensity that - for us - was beyond words.” said Global Business Development Director and acting producer on the project Malte Wagener of Deep Silver.

Technology and sound also play a big part in the trailers success. The Axis team brought in motion capture experts Audiomotion and Dimensional Imaging to capture the character performances and Savalas for music composition and sound design. “We are blown away by the reaction to the trailer and look forward to continuing the strong relationship with Dead Island and Deep Silver.” said Axis Producer Andrew Pearce.

“Axis exceeded all our high expectations and then some on this project and really hit this one out of the park.” said Global Business Development Director and acting producer on the project Malte Wagener of Deep Silver.
