I played the original Ghost Recon for years competitively was always a hoot, great big maps, no deathcam, and great gameplay.

The only game that has been better was the original Red Orchestra. Had all of the above, plus a great modding community that provided some excellent maps and kept that game going well beyond anything else from its time.

The realism of bullet drop, reloading, and again decent map size, not to mention playing 26 vs 26 or 32 v 32 on a server was insanely fun. They even got the combined forces right with tanks.

Noting since has come close for me.

We have also arranged things so that almost no one understands science and technology. This is a prescription for disaster. We might get away with it for a while, but sooner or later this combustible mixture of ignorance and power is going to blow up in our faces. - Carl Sagan

it has to be COD4 for me. It may have been elevated in my mind due to the great social aspect of playing it with Toggers (it was the game I was playing when I joined). Nothing has topped it since but a few have come close.

Two games come to mind for me. first is IRONSTORM was what got me playing FPS as it could be played in both 1st person and 3rd person also it had a great deathmatch and ctf multiplayer that you could host on the net. Also AA2 has to be my favourite as it is a great tactical game also very squad dependent and great to get to know people. Most fps I play now are purely social, because I just love hanging out with the people in that section.

For me, probably mw2 in terms of gameplay, best time I had with a shooter.

The obvious problems in regards to servers and cash grab map pack economics were there, but loved the gameplay. Don't really do shooters that much anymore.

Unreal Tournament 2004, Onslaught mode back in the day. Reason for joining TOG too.

More recently, Global Agenda. The PvP was just sheer awesome. Have high hopes for GA2.

Just got Arma III Alpha lite installed. Have to give that a run soon.

Red Orchestra I was never really good at (Gonna have to reinstall it and give it another run soon)

Soldier Of Fortune was one of the first FPS games I remember playing, being only young at the time it came out my dad had brought it home from work and me and my brother sat infront of our old windows ME computer playing it. I had no idea what the story was about but I have fond memories of that game so thats definetly in there as a classic.
Feel free to add me on steam, while not a full member does not mean I'm not up for playing a few games with or against you guys.
