Default Name Your Shooter

Hows it going guys and girls,

This thread may seem a little off putting with the title, or that could just be me, either way let me explain what this is. Name Your Shooter for lack of better words is exactly what it sounds like. You name your favourite Shooter game.

It can be first person, third person, some crazy hybrid of both even! the point is you tell everyone who reads this what your favourite shooter game is and why! It can be old school wolfenstein or maybe your a fan of Warframe that just came out.

The point is, You decide what shooter you like and its your reason why, no one elses! So while their may be some flack from someone who doesnt agree with you, the thing is its your opinion and who knows..maybe your opinion will convince someone to try the game or replay it.

Thats what the point of this is all about, to tell someone "hey I like this game, heres why, maybe you should try it and see if you like it!" Everyone's a family here (except me for another 3 years...age restriction) so why not tell them what you enjoy? You can put it up here and everyone will see what your favourite shooter is, it could be your current fave or your all time classic, theres no limit! It's all about sharing and getting to know and try new things.

I hope this works out,

Cheers,
ColdCamV

I guess I'll start the ball rolling.

Currently I'm loving ArmA II, while I can't say I brought it for the tactical side of Shooters (I brought it for DayZ) I have found myself more and more playing the original and even the ACE mode (When I can find a server with players on it) It's a fun game to play but it can be abit of a timesink, especially if you play on a Wasteland server.

The game has its bugs, like how you cant drive fast over train tracks on an ATV because you will triple flip barrel roll into death. But all in all its a really enjoyable game and more fun with the more people your playing with.

I would recommend people check out ArmA II and pick it up when its cheap (Or even pick up the ArmA III Alpha off steam, I personally haven't played it but I will be getting it soon hopefully)

I'm still shooting people in BF3. Am looking at ARMA III until BF4 comes out.

The original Ghost Recon. Still the best multiplayer dynamics of any shooter.

I never really understood the appeal of goldeneye, PC shooters were way ahead of it. Maybe it was only popular because it was the first console shooter that wasn't terrible, but compared to PCs (Dark Forces, Quake II, Unreal) it was unwieldy to control and the AI was terrible.

Then again, I think even modern FPS games are utter rubbish on consoles so it's probably just me.

Gotta agree with ya Drac on current FPS games for consoles, however I don't mind playing COD on the PS3, simply because I find myself playing better with a controller (most likely again because everything else is utter rubbish)

You just dont have the same precision with a gamepad as you do with a mouse (For me anyway, others could be opposite)

An Older FPS that brings back memories, for me atleast as it was my first step into the more Tactical FPS has to be Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield, Spent many hours playing and stratergizing, then failing and restratergizing, then failing again so going with the premade plan and just following that set up to victory

Loved the R6 and Rogue Spear games. We use to play a lot of those multiplayer as well, mostly 11pm to 11am internet-cafe lock-ins. Limping when hit in the leg, one shot kills from any size bullet if it ever hits you in the head, including silenced pistols. Sniper rifles that had zero chance of winning a gunfight at point blank range. Arrr, good times.

I remember always using the 3,3,2 set up in single player setting up the 2 with sniper rifle for overwatch while using the other two 3 man teams to do door to door breach and clear.

Makes me want to play it again, or even the Rainbow Six: Vegas series.
