Steam "Summer" sale - DCS A-10C for US$16

Save 60% on DCS A-10C Warthog on Steam

With the recent release of DCS Combined Arms Open Beta, there has never been a better time to get into the action.

If you have a Joystick with at least one hat switch and a rudder "twist" axis you'll be able to fly the warthog.

While A-10C is considered quite sophisticated (and trust me, I am still learning!) the friendly TOGgers in the Simulations Division can get you sorted out and flying in a jiffy, and blowing stuff up soon after!:D

Anyone with any interest in military aviation.. this is where the virtual battlefield is being realised. $16 gets you a seat in an A-10C modelled to as close as possible to the real thing you'll get on PC.

DCS is about to get huge with 3rd party developers, this is an opportunity to get in cheap.

I am in, just bought the simulation and downloading now. I heard it's a steep learning curve, but I will give it a try. Can't pass up the $16 deal. Thanks for the heads up!

No worries, Bigmik. It would be great to see you in the Simulations division once you get sorted. Timezone coordination is a must though, as we are all in the southern hemisphere, Oceania.

Wish I saw the special when it was on! Really in the mood for a great MilFlightSim and had my eyes on A-10.

For all those dedicated gamers, you might find these links useful.
I've got an OCD for quality products, and been looking at the Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog for when I finally get my hands on the game.

A full review on the product can be found at SimHQ

G'day Y0kenB. It's good bit of kit. Myself, and a couple of the other DCS regulars have got one. I thoroughly recommend it to any one who's serious about flight sims.
Good sturdy alloy construction and the finest resolution sensors on a game controller on the market today.

A word of caution though: A good portion of the flight controllers on the market today have a rudder or yaw axis in a twist style of the grip. The TM Warthog does NOT have this feature. It's a facsimile of the actual A-10C HOTAS (Hands On Throttle And Stick). yaw inputs on that aircraft and most others is done through peddles.
So f you are looking to invest in this sweet piece of tech, factor in spending at least an extra AU$250 for decent flight peddles. These combat peddles from Saitek are de rigueur at the moment.

Thank's for the feedback astrospud!
My dad is an ex fighter-pilot and i'm looking at setting up a complete rig for him with his 54" LCD as the pc screen so that he can get a bit of the nostalgia sorted out every now and then :) These pedals will come in very handy, thank's for the link up

No worries, Y0kenB. He's going to be one lucky guy!
