TOG/AEF 161 Sqn Combined DCS Event

G'day TOG!

Just wondering if you guys would be interested in a combined DCS mission with 161 some time? I was thinking somewhere around Oct 21st? It would just be a casual mission to get the two teams together, and if successful could lead to something a bit more regular/formal in the future?

Thoughts?

Cheers

G'day Kaiza. :)
Sounds good.
We have a handful of guys that are keen pilots of most of the airframes (do any of your guys prefer the Mustang?).
We'll be testing the effectiveness of the new TARS build soon, so I hope that will be implemented. Is that something you will look at using?
I'll post a link to this in the Simulations Division so the guys can have their say.

I'll keep you updated. Thanks for Stopping by!

We have no guys that fly the mustang as a preference at the moment.

Yep we have been testing TARS all week, and we will absolutely be using it in future missions. We run "tac flights" every so often that are fully briefed missions, use TARS and Sqn SOPS. Guys will have to qualify before they can fly these missions. If you have ever been in our TS, thats what the gold T next to a members name signifies. These are the style of flights that I would love to get into with other Sqns in the future! For this first one I thought we would keep it simple, fly without TARS and then ramp it up later on if the interest is there. Although if we have a large amount of interest we may have to use TARS to keep people sane?

Cool, I'll plan it for the 21st and remain flexible if it doesn't suit the majority. Also happy to take suggestions on map ideas.

I'll see if I can catch one of you in TS in the next few days.

Cheers fellas.

I am in!
21st is reserved for Ka-50 and Su-25T flight duty :)

Ok, seems we have 4 with a tentative 5. That should be a good number on our side, with the AEF guys, should make a good mission.
As for time, do you prefer day or evening? I'm SA, and the rest are east coasters, so coordination shouldn't be an issue.
21st falls on a Sunday, by my calendar.

EDIT: Sorry Chippie! You are VERY east - NZ. Are you guys on DLS time?

Kaiza 17th October 2012 08:21 PM

Cool, looks like we have similar numbers. Yep the 21st is a Sunday, but for the Kiwis, the Monday is a public holiday so it shouldn't be too bad (most of the reason I picked that date). Happy to move it if it doesn't suit you guys.

I was thinking a 1930 EST (2030Z) start? A bit of a compromise between time zones. How does that sound?

Kaiza 17th October 2012 08:24 PM

Made a mess of those times. I meant 1930 Eastern Daylight time. That will be 2130 NZ daylight time/0830Z

Kaiza 18th October 2012 08:19 PM

Also, what roughly is your split of rotorheads/fixed wing?

astrospud 19th October 2012 04:08 PM

Well, I think there are at least 3 Ka-50 drivers, and the rest make up the A10.

EDIT: Are we populating your server, or ours? The same with TS? I assume TS server details are in the scroll on your server?
