Easily....

You'd either have to have each level only one block higher, so people can jump to the next one.... or have a ladder to get to the next layer.

The trickier thing would be working out what the rules would be.

Each of the 5 levels starts as a 6x6 grid (or 8x8 ) which are at least 3 blocks above the next level. All 2x2 squares (on levels 1 and 4) are coloured differently, are not removable and are next to the 6x6 grid for their level. Players can remove any part of the 6x6 grid, except when they are standing on the 2x2 squares. The levels are not totally above each other, but their centres are, so some falls from the outside blocks will lead to direct death. No ladders or vines required. The 2x2 grids are starting points and safety points to plan your next jump. The victor is the last one standing on a removable block.

ok, I vote for the creation of a 3D spleef arena for testing purposes!

Here is a quick and so-dirty-I-haven't-added-colour-or-removed-the-cursor version of what I was talking about. Players would start in the corner 2x2s on the top layer and descend as they battle until one falls out of the spleef arena or is stranded on a 2x2 section.

To make it easy to replace the blocks after the game, the outer blocks may have to be surrounded by unremovable blocks.
