Default Books, Movies, and other entertainment while waiting

I read a fair bit and found a book that has little snips of Newtonian physics, "Into The Black" by Evan Currie. It's a military space opera. It starts off with Earth's first large scale FTL ship. There is of course space battles and some of the smaller ship engagements go into cutting engines and letting momentum carry them along path but using small thrusters to change the way they are facing. The main ship is a large carrier with crew of 600 and a flight wing of small fighters. I would give the book a 4 out of 5 right now but only half the way in. The military parts are well done but he needs a tad bit of work on character development.

So what are some books or movies you guys like that would be closely related to Star Citizen? I am more interested in books but I am sure others would like some movie ideas.

The new BSG is excellent despite the slump during Season 2/3 - one of my favourite sci-fi shows ever. And I found BSG has a reasonable depiction of Newtonian flight...it's somewhat inconsistent at times but usually when they focus on the dogfighting they use elements of it along with fly-by-wire so it's actually quite entertaining to watch.

As far as books go, I'm a big fan of Peter F. Hamilton, probably not all that close to Star Citizen in particular but he does a brilliant job of creating new universes on a grand scale.

Firefly, Farscape and Space:Above and Beyond.

Lexx if you want just plain weird.

Probably one of the best episodes - the musical episode they did towards the end of season 2.

I loved Lexx!

I have not seen that show since it aired. Looking it up on the Wiki page, I have only seen the European version, did not know it had 2 versions.

Only a few minor differences, mostly involving nudity. The version that's available from Australian stores was the US version. Before it was available in Australia you could get the European version which is the one I have in my collection.
