Default Voyager Direct - price reductions

Not sure if everyone is aware of the price changes.

From:https://robertsspaceindustries.com/c...man-18-Million

"Starting immediately, the prices for the decorative items like the posters and buggy will be reduced. If you paid the original price for these items, you will receive the difference in the form of additional UEC credited to your account in the near future (it will take a little time to develop the correct script, but we will have your accounts credited soon.)

We are making the following price changes as a result of your feedback:

Cot – 2,000 UEC (was 5,000 UEC)
RSI Zeus Model – 5,000 UEC (was 10,000 UEC)
Lamp – 2,000 UEC (was 5,000 UEC)
Greycat PTV – 15,000 UEC (was 20,000 UEC)
Posters – 1,000 UEC each (was 5,000 UEC each)
(Note that we have not included the workbench; that’s because it will be a useful gameplay element in the future. It will be needed for pilots seeking to overclock their own ship components!)"

Wence out

The prices still seem a bit much seeing as initially you were supposed to buy cargo for the Freelancer for less than 10K for your first trade.

Well, tbh, novelty items are usually crazy expensive in almost all games. So the costs of that sort of stuff doesn't bother me.

I mean hell, in EVE Online, a shirt can go for over 5000 AUR. 3500 AUR can be bought with one PLEX. One PLEX is worth about 560 million isk. So that means a shirt costs you the equivalent of 392 million isk.

To give you an idea of scale in game, a battleship - a ship hundreds of meters long, and home to hundreds of crew members costs less than half of that.

Yeah. A shirt costs double that.

Sorry do not understand the Eve mechanics and yes I get you point just the math is bothering me:

1 shirt = 5000 AUR

1 PLEX = 3500 AUR and 1 PLEX = 560mil isk

Therefore

1 shirt = 800mil isk ?? What I am missing....?

ahh nwm you probably put them wrong around - I assume shirt cost 3500 AUR ?

I did my maths the wrong way around, but yeah, it illustrates it even better

The shirt costs you the equivalent of 5000/3500 * 560 = 800 million isk. Which is enough to buy about four said battleships, and have some spare change

But do you get a shirt with your Battleships?

Another example. Guild Wars 2. A flute (yes, a musical instrument), which can do nothing except make some noise costs 800 gems.

800 gems is worth about 40 gold (the ingame currency). A single exotic (the highest buyable tier of armor) is worth about 5 gold a piece, and you have six armor slots. This means a flute costs more than the cost of an entire suit of the best buyable armor.

This trend continues in pretty much any game with a cash shop. Vanity items are expensive in terms of ingame currency.
