Their pitch is - See Half-Life 2 like you've never seen it before.


Purpose of the mod:

• Unified Engine; play the game (HL2 / EP1 / EP2) with the latest Orangebox engine / Advanced HDR / Dynamic Shadows
• Enhance the old HL2 maps with HDR, blooming, color-correction, new props
• Eliminate all blurry / Lowres textures with new Highres textures and/or Hires-Detail-Overlays
• Give the HL2 trilogy a more stressed, darker and uncomfortable look
• Enhance the soundtrack with a semi-dynamic new hollywood-style music
• Add optional HD characters
• Add more replay-value

Requirements

• Requires 64 bit version of Windows
• 3 GB of RAM (4 GB recommended)
• DX9 capable graphics hardware with minimum 512 MB VRAM (1024 MB recommended)
• Fully installed STEAM Client; You can't start the mod without STEAM running.
• Fully installed and unlocked HL2 / EP1 / EP2; Make shure, you have started those games in the past.

This mod pushes HL2 to use more than 2GB of RAM which is more than the 32 bit Windows can address for a single application so it won't currently work on 32 bit operating systems. Sorry XP/Vista 32 users (psst, get windows 7 already!)...

This is Version 10 "final" of the mod, but it's not actually the big F "Final" final version of the mod, just a milestone in the project. There will most likely be later versions 11, 12, etc...

There might be other mirrors, you'll have to search for them yourselves but for Aussies that'll most likely be the fastest one. ugh, got about halfway through the download last night when it failed, the error claimed i had run out of harddrive space. (ive got about 700gb free on that drive lol)

Sounds like that drive is formatted as FAT32 which has a max file size of 4GB - DOH!

What are the maximum volume sizes and maximum file sizes for the various Windows file systems?

You'll need to save it to an NTFS formatted drive.

Dx - you have a drive with a capacity of over 700GB and it's formatted as FAT32?!?!

My external 500GB is Fat32 (which can support up to 2TB) because I use it on both a Mac and a PC.
