Well, this one was released yesterday (aussie time) and all I can say is, FUN.
It's a really simple ARPG (Action RPG) made by a large portion of the main guys behind both diablo games. It's very cartoonish, simplified in all the right ways and with more features. Basically it's just a damn fun game (and at a budget $20 USD) . So, I highly recommend trying out the demo (although I got it on pre-order based off hype).

Very very fun! I love it. Much of the feel of the original Diablo. I've been playing as the melee character so far. Dual wielding and buffing my pet. The bonus areas from the maps you can buy or the areas opened by the "portal guy" are a nice distraction too.

I highly recommend this game.
If you loved Mythos than you MUST buy this game. Even if you loved Diablo you should buy it - isn't Matt Uelman's music sublime?

Yeah, the music is pure win.
I'm playing a vanquisher with dual pistols of pwn. Only playing on Hard at the moment, which is actually really quite easy. I think I'll fire up an alchemist on VH for a bit of a challenge. BTW: Runic have released a respec mod which adds a potion to the general vendor to allow you to re-assign your skill (but not stat) points.

I went for a minion master build, but it seems a bit overpowered. 5 imps, a golem and my pet, they just tear through everything while I pick up the loot. Should have gone for a higher difficulty I guess.
Runic seem like a great bunch who really listen to their community, so I'm interested to see what else they do with the game, and also what the community brings to it once they get into TorchED. |

Yeah, but they pushed this out in 11 months.
It's a test of the client engine they'll be using in an upcoming free to play MMORPG. They basically said the studio and a lot of it's top staff had a couple recent projects fall through (mythos/hellgate) so they wanted to put out a fun cut priced single player game to get morale back up. Netcode and the extra issues it introduces (you need to make classes actually work together etc) would have compromised how quick and simple they wanted the game to be.
