I have been thinking about picking this up, a lack of demo to try before I purchase is holding me back though.

This game keeps impressing me the more I play it. I'm in chapter 3 of the Euro version. This game is the first rpg in a long time that I actually feel like I'm playing a role and not just hacking away at mobs in a dungeon.

Saw this in Game Traders today at $78. From what you guys are saying it could be worth a go. Might wait for the silly season to finish before getting it though. Anyone else got anything to say about it?

Yes I played it for around 200 hours. I do like Oblivion for what it is, but it's not my favorite rpg. I may replay it again loaded with many mods in hopes of giving me a more varied gameplay. The game felt dry after a while.

The only big drawback I've seen so far in The Witcher, dungeon/area wise, is that they are re-using these places for quests. I feel the npc's in this game have a bit more emotion and character than Oblivion.
