Bethesda Softworks, developer of "The Elder Scrolls"(TES)-Series, is working on Fallout 3 and plans to release a teaser video soon. Personally, I liked "Arena" and "Daggerfall" (TES 1&2) but found the later games a bit disappointing, espacially Oblivion and Redguard.
I also have that tech-demo, which looks really nice so far. I just hope they manage to keep the game in line with Fallout I & II considering the overall "feel" of the world. |

Thanks for sending the Afterfall FAQ. Has anyone been able to get into their website?
Re: Fallouts 1 and 2, I recall reading that both games did not sell a lot of copies. Can anyone confirm that? And if so, is it possible that Fallout 3 will probably contain more action than role-playing so that more copies will be sold. Finally, I once thought that Fallout 3 was going to be a MMORPG. Is it going to be a single-player RPG, then? |

yep single player, the argument was that its supposed to be a wasteland, and not be filled with thousands and thousands of players, you are supposed to be able to travel without running into people constantly

Yeah since the FAQ came out mate the Afterfall site has been down, I think they are coping a flogging at the moment, its been a while since they released any info because of them seeking a publishing deal.
EDIT - just checked and it appears to be online again Afterfall

I hope the Afterfall story translates well, or the writers behind it are native English speakers. The S.T.A.L.K.E.R story was rather scattered in that regard most likely due to translation issues.
The "Introduction" to the game on their website spends the opening paragraph trying to convince me that I should be reading the text that I'm currently trying to read. Despite the insult to my intelligence, I soldiered on. I got as far as this stellar paragraph and gave up: Quote:
If this is the quality of the content they're presenting, no amount of flashy graphics is going to hold my attention. ![]() Content is, and always will be, king. I don't like being the doomsayer, but I've not had a chance to remove by "cynical bastage" beanie today. My faith lies in Fallout 3 and all of the cold-war wit, imagery, music and pizzazz we've come to know and love from the series over the years.

I think you need to keep it in perspective, these guys are creating this game independently, they aren't native english speakers. I would hope that once they secure publishing deals, which they currently are working on, they would employ professional translators.

But wouldn't employing some English writing talent help them secure a publisher? Given the amount of $$$ it takes to publish a game nowadays, finding one without some tasty morsels of highly polished content is going to be difficult. At least, that's what all the successful indies say about trying to forge your own I.P. in the games biz.
