The main thing I am happy about is that they will most likely include a constructors kit, which means mods. I think I am more interested in what players do with the game in that respect.
![]() I find the ability to switch from real time to turn based pretty cool as well. I like that. Overall I think it will be a very good to great game. With mods it will just live on and on. |

E307: Fallout 3 First Impressions | TwitchGuru I like the little comment about the 3rd person view can be panned out to look like the old isometric view ![]()

For the Aussies here there is a great interview with Todd Howard in the latest PC Powerplay (no, I'm not a shill, I wear my allegience proudly in my sig
).What is interesting about it is that the author (Anthony Fordham) has moved past the hyperbole of a lot of previews (Oh... Bethesda you are so very talented, wasn't Oblivion an amazing game... blah, blah, blah) and has Todd Howard answering some important questions about the game's direction. As an amusing side note Anthony does recall Howard sounding rather hostile during the interview. Is the Bethesda love making Todd intolerant to anything other than idol worship? :P |

I'm a long time reader of this great mag, and yes, I've read many of your pieces. Good work! I've got to say, I'm getting excited as hell for this game! Everything I read about if just appeals to me more and more. It is good to see that the focus of the article wasn't about Oblivion... that's all I seem to read about! I can of course understand why its such a hot topic, but surely it's going to be a game worthy of its own attention. Got to say, I'm damn impressed that that teaser is in-game engine... Looking forward to it, is an understatement!

Thank you for the welcome. :P
Good to see you read the mag... if you see the name Nathan Cocks adorning any articles then that is little ole me. ![]() While I'm looking forward to Fallout 3 I am doing so with a high level of caution. Oblivion, while a good game, was a pretty ordinary RPG... it was more GTA with Swords than it was Morrowind or Daggerfall. Oblivion represents Bethesda raping their own franchise. This concern spills over as Fallout is by far the premiere RPG of our times. Tim Cain's crew made a hardcore RPG and it would not do for Bethesda to turn it into an RPG-Lite as they did with Oblivion. I'm not saying make the exact same game (even though that is my secret wish)... feel free to innovate, make changes and more but be sure every element that is introduced works to improve the RPG-ness of the title.
