Default Redman Server - Back this week (April 4th)

Just to let all the TOG people know - especially those that don't read their email, that the Redman server of the Eye of the Beholder will be back online this Friday - 8:30pm. (Presumably)

Warbear should be happy. I know I am.

More of us sitting back and watching Brilhasti showing off and firing off 9th level spells.

I didn't know you guys were only on level 11.

Our server made it a fair whack into level 11 last night too. Killed 2 liches.

Love those Celestial Avenger Longswords of Slaying. Makes the issue of 20 Vampires and 20 Mummies a bit of a non-issue.

Still, I got to admit, we've had only had 3 persons in our party for the past 2 weeks. That might have helped in the speed issue of not having to wait for someone redoing their spells or inventory too much. Just got on, and fought.

First week was Solis missing out, so we breezed 2 and a half levels, this week was Cailith missing out and we blasted I think 3 to 3 and a half levels. Went faster because we didn't have Cailith in our ear going "Let me scout for traps first!"

We found traps though - the hard way. "Trap does 83 points of damage to you" "Oh well, take that from my stash of over 250 hit points, and I'm still listed then as Barely Injured" Let's keep moving and by the time the next trap rolls in, I'll be fully regenerated.

Although it is a small slight to you Cailith, I've found that Rogues are just not needed in the high level game. I think this is a problem with dungeon design though. I mean, if the traps did 500 damage instead of 100 it might be a different story. Generally though you can pretty much handle any single trap that just does damage.

Even though rogues do get good abilities, they are not much use in a well rounded party. While they are great at low level, once you get over 14th or so they are bacially just spell targetting cannon fodder.

"Hmmm, where should I cast Meteor Swarm?"

"Just wait for the rogue and then target him... he'll save ... "

*sob* I'll just paint a target on my arse for you then Rickety :P

You are right though, but it wasn't so much for trap detection as much as know how many bad guys you're going to fight. That doesn't really matter with the amount of armour and stuff that our party has though.

I'll just go cry in my corner....

*Comforts Cailith as he cries in the corner*

I've got some good items for you.

I think.....

You hit pretty hard - I reckon when we play next week, just play as a fighter.

We'll find a shield or something for ya!

This is really only for EoB though as it has rediculous equipment. For Shadowsof Urentide though I'd say we'll need one. I'm thinking of going Rogue in that just for a change ...

I haven't yet decided what class I'd like to play through Shadows of Unrentide yet.

Monk using weapons looks interesting at the moment, but then again, playing a Paladin and actually trying to be Lawful Good *shudder* also looks interesting.

Yeah, those swords are nice. My mage currently runs around with one.

My AC with a shield that does regen is 47, in leather armor. And my attack bonus is +21 with the sword.

I stopped casting that many spells now, unless I need to.
