I think this may perhaps be the most incredible game I've ever had on my radar. Will Wright the creator of the SIMs series is the moving force behind SPORE.
The game takes you from being a cingle celled creature, all the way to a space faring race with all the parts in the middle. Though it is not a multi player game per se, all the creatures you encounter on your world and others are actually created by other SPORE players. This game combines elements of RTS, RPG, and God games. The creatures you make are infinitly diverse, and there are no boundries as to how you can make them. Putting a mouth on the ass is allowed for instance. One of the best parts of City of Heroes for me was character creation. This is a game that is all about character creation. You choose how your creatures evolve, and design everything in their world from the trees, the weapons, the vehicals and the buildings. The game is linked to a central server so all your creations are being shared on other players planets and vise versa. As you progress from the Cell game to the Creature game the tribal game and the space game... all the other creatures you encounter will have been developed by other players and you can see who made them. You can also catalogue what you find. Once in space you can explore literaly an entire galaxy and everything you find was made by someone else. You can destroy, trade, or abduct. It's up to you. You can make alliances, trade partners and enemies. As long as there are people playing, there is always new content to find. I have a link to an incredible in game demo video here.

Sorry no one replyed to your post, Yukkione.
I've been keeping an eye on Spore ever since I saw the hour long gameplay introduction from last years GDC (I think it was). Simply incredible. Spore is going to take The Sims and break it over it's knee. It's comming soon! |

interesting concept, using other peoples creations to populate the sp experiences of all.. like a hybrid sp/mp game
![]() How does the combat work though (yes yes, I know it's not really the core of the game).

From what I've seen, the game seems mostly "finished". I haven't heard any news except for the occasional interview or question/answer teasers I find on Blues News
PC Gamer still has the release as Winter 2007. |

Release seems to have been pushed back to mid 2008
![]() Pitty, as I'm dying to loose myself in this game, but I'm kinda glad too, as time goes on it just looks better and better. I hadn't seen that Robin Williams video, started watching it at work just now but had to stop, my cackling was making it a tad too obvious that I wasn't doing any real work! Hah.

Yeah, a real shame. This was looking VERY good, and within reach. I know next year isn't all that far away now, and a game of this complexity would be very hard to get right, but still... hehehe Me wants it now!!
