This game has been what, over 2 years in development now at least. I remember Carmack showing of doom 3 when the GF3 was released.
I have little doubt that Doom 3 will have a great engine, gameplay I expect a pretty straight shooter, I'm more excited about Half Life II when it comes to a good SP experience. The problem with Carmack's engines great as they are, they are usually only good for indoor area's. To be quite honest large outdoor area's is what gets me a lot more excited. I might be wrong with this one but judging from the footage it looks like corridor war all over again. Now Microsoft got to ID to postpone the PC release so the Xbox release can be first.

Yep and that in a nut shell is why I hate Bill
I also downloaded the D3 trailer from E3, you are right Father, 100% indoor levels, very dark and very small as far as sight distances goes, etc. Still, the graphics rock and I will at least be d/l the demo for a look see Cheers

Can't remember where but I read something a couple of days ago that Doom 3 will not have multiplayer support.
If true this seems to be an amazingly stupid decision. I'll see if I can find the article again - maybe on OCAU? Zlip |

Yup
There was a posting about it on OCAU. Basically I won't be buying it for that reason. No MP, not interested. If the game was free, then I would check it out to see if I get 'immersed' in it. I guess I still have to wait for a game like this to come out co-op. Half-life 2 I believe doesn't support co-op, but at least it looks like you can MP with it a bit. |

Actually UT was the greatest co-op me a my bro played. Me and my bro (with some bots) VS bots in Assult was great fun (played every level @ increasingly difficultly levels - managed it on godlike eventually), CTF and Dominiation were fun too.
Serious Sam 1 and 2 (way too short and it was to hard for us @ the higher levels). Anyway - co-op is a great addition to a game that is seriously missing these days. I miss him now days - married and moved out of home (left him there). |
