Theres a couple of new vids up for bioshock on gamespy, one showing off the water effects looks especially good. I'll probably grab the 360 version though, doubt my PC could do it justice.

Janrary to June/July is usually the craptastic period for game releases. All the juicy stuff is release in the 2nd half of the year when there's no long weekend's to enjoy it. It's this whole government conspiracy...

That's the first "exact" release date I've seen and it was accompanying a developer interview.....so here's hoping.
Gamespy has now given August 21st as a release :http://uk.pc.gamespy.com/pc/bioshock/795401p1.html

I haven't had chance to read the preview on that page yet.........but I am already starting to drool!

Slapping a quadcore in to my system this weekend so the 8800gtx can stretch its legs and do this game some justice.

Can't wait.

Yeah, this should be good. I'm going to pre-order it this weekend. Lots of goodies for the PC over the next few months.

First reviews have started to come in and they are universally positive... extremely so.

PC Gamer has said the following:

I spend my career, and my gaming life, waiting for a moment when a game just astonishes me, when I can't believe what I'm seeing, what I'm doing...

...these are the big challenges developers have been struggling to master for decades: narrative, emergence, a sense of place. If another game did just one of these as well as BioShock, it would immediately qualify as a classic. When a game comes along that does all three, we can only be baffled and thankful.

They gave the game a 95%.

Why is this not out now! :P

I've been waiting for this game since I finished System Shock 2.

I have a new PC, a copy of Windows Vista, a free weekend starting on August 24th and a paid off preorder reciept.

Now all I have to do is wait; Christmas in August indeed!
