The irony is that it's only locked for the File Planet subscribers, there are unlocked versions of the demo all over the net.

Those "unlocked" demos wouldn't happen to just be FP downloads that were cracked would they ...
nVidia have released new beta drivers, 163.44.

From what I understand the unlocked versions were from File Planet originally, they took it down pretty quickly but not before a lot of people had already downloaded it.

I had the game preloaded via Steam, or so I thought (preload complete). So I wait eagerly as the full version unlocks, only to find I'm at 80% and have to download another 2 gig or so
Play the game as soon as it's released they say

You should be able to get it at near your connections full speed up to about 1 MB/s. The Aussie content servers seem to be handling it fairly well so far ...

Yep, around 700-800K a sec for me for the final part of the load.
Did have a few issues with activation thou. and then needed a reboot after a extra redist package was installed.
Off for some fun now

Well that sucks. I guess I won't be playing it until tomorrow since that would blow my peak quota

Yeah, I tried downloading it but it looks like steam is rooted. I left it for an hour and it was still on 79% and doing nothing. Double clicking on it says "Steam has found a problem with your local games file. Game files will now be re-acquired from the Steam servers" Which just keeps popping up unless I hit cancel.
I tried the "Verify integrity of game cache" button but it didn't find any problems. So what do I do? Delete all local content and start again?
