end game content question
Hey guys I dunno why i cant seem to find info, but i am at heart a raider and i like the way the combat and classes in WAR look compared to AoC. However i cant find much info at all about raiding other then one of our members who is in th beta saying for pve go AoC. This seems odd for me since almost anything i read about AoC is about there PvP. I am just hoping there maybe some info I am missing cause WAR looks great as long as they plan to make raids for the pve fanbase
PS. the RvR combat seems to be about the most fun and well put together pvp i have ever seen and this is why i hope there is PvE endgame so this game has it all not just focusing on PvP and leaving out the large raid community.

They haven't released much on the PvE Endgame raiding content. They did in one of the newsletter's showcase a raid dungeon so there is at least some content along those lines available. Also, the climax of the RvR is raiding and sacking the enemies city, which includes a joint RvR/PvE encounter of slaying the enemy's leader (and various other NPC's around the town) for what's been touted as the best loot in the game.

Reoh is correct. There has been very little information released about end game content, and beta testing of that content has only just started in the current phases.
Reoh's description is quite good though.

Thanks guys, but yeah i watch a few dev videos on the RvR content and how the commander drops your PvP chest piece. I really like the way the game looks and i just hope it doesn't go down like Fury did. i don't think in a post WoW world a pure PvP game will be considered a success since it will be measure next to WoW.
Anyways i have read up more on AoC and i think i can live with the crappy guild wars loads between zones as long as the game play and content is worth it.

This is why there are so many games in the market, to each their own. I'm waiting on WAR for much the same reasons haha.

While a lot of the end game content has not been fully released (like the Vail) it has been stated on several different videos or interviews that there is no raiding in WAR with the single exception that the king of each city is a 24 man instance very similar to say the Onyxia fight from Warcraft where you pretty much just go in and there he is, not an entire dungeon just a boss and his encounter event.
Also all of the dungeons in WAR are not instances, they are all open to anyone that walks in them and all the mobs in it are free to everyone currently in the dungeon. However the various bosses in that dungeon are instanced so your party doesn't have to camp a spawn point to fight the boss. So you "can" raid the instance if you like, it will be very easy since there are so many of you, but in the end of the dungeon you will split in to 6 man parties for the boss fights. All PvE content is slated for 6 man parties (again, except the king of capitol cities).
To some people this is a bad thing, I believe the original poster would say as they mentioned that they like to raid, and to some people it is a great thing, like myself. I raided in DAoC and in WoW and just eventually got tired of it but still had a lot of fun in the single party instances. I am quite looking forward to WARs PvE game as well as the RvR game, and when I heard that there was no raiding in the PvE side of the game I cheered. (And my heart sank just a little when I heard the king was a raid, but only a little bit).

The others have pretty much covered what is known. The only other thing I'd aid is that you really can't consider the RvR that Mythic present in Warhammer, and previously in DAOC (though far more so in WAR) ,as anything like typical PvP. Sure it is at heart just players fighting players but it is so entwined in every aspect of the game design and so much more. the line between PvE and RvR content blurrs , goes all fuzzy then ceases to exist.

100% agree with Crag. RvR is a whole new level of PvP which WoW players haven't experienced. DAoC holds most of the best "pvp" encounter's I've had in playing over a dozen mmorpgs. Eagerly awaiting what their "step beyond" daoc is, that they've been speaking about.
I'm still going to be dissapointed if they don't add in pve raiding content though. It'll be cutting off a popular aspect of mmorpg's for many players, myself included.

DAoC spoiled me for life, I never liked mindless ganking and once I played RvR I refuse to play any other version of PvP. Mythic did a great job with RvR in DAoC and we can only hope they use all they learned to make it that much better in WAR.
