I like being able to copy movies in DivX format onto a flash device and play them from my Xbox 360 by plugging the device into a USB port.

If I copy the contents of a DVD to an 8GB flash device, will that be able to play? Does anyone know?

Edit: This prolly shoulda gone in the 360 subforum.

I don't think it will work unless you convert the DVD to Divx format first.

I watch dvd divx movies from the xbox 360. Under the media heading, I select video then the dvd, there is an option for usb device as well but I have not tried it.

If that doesn't work, I had good luck with TVersity. I haven't put it on my laptop yet, but when the desktop was still running 24/7 it streamed anything the PC could play quite nicely. A few other cool options there, like internet video feeds and such.
