I apologize if it's taboo to write a thread requesting opinions...let me know if so and I "won't do it again"
I trust TOG reviews more than your average IGN/1up reviewer and a game like this I'm curious about - if only for the mindless explosions and potential fun to be had. So...anyone have anything to say about it? ![]()

Hey lad, ive been playing mercs 2 for a couple of days now and one thing is really beginning to irk me about this game, and that’s the huge amount of negative press about mercs 2.
This game truly rocks... All my wildest Rambo/commando fantasies have been fulfilled. Yes the story isn’t the best, yes the voice acting could have been better, Bugs!!!,What bugs!, well ok there are a few but not as many as some people would have you believe and there just your run of the mill bugs found in just about every sandbox game, they haven’t worried me anyhow. Besides what other game on the market at the moment gives you so many options with which to dispose of your foes, None, in my opinion anyway, Hell after running out of ammo in my chopper I took a leaf out of the terrorists handbook slamming that sucker into the side of an occupied building, leaping to safety right before impact and watching the building, foes and all come crashing to the ground in a violent dust storm. I’ve even assassinated a target with a Chinese gunboat, which crushed him to death after I dropped it on him from a height of 2000 feet with the aid of my chopper. The game is cool and here lies the problem, I got the game from eb, I was going to play it for 6-7 days then return it and turn the $100 store credit into a preorder for midnight club la, But the more I play it, the more I cant justify taking it back, so now ill have to find more money for midnight club...Not to worry that’s just how addiction goes I guess.... |

I was going to skip this one because of the poor reviews but I think you just changed my mind, orange! I tried the demo out the other day but I didn't have a lot of time to spend with it.
Like Pure Mongrel said, Retro, I'd value what everyone here had to say over IGN or Gamespot any day. |
