Keep me on the list, but wake me when they are ready to go. I'm allocating a proportion of my old age pension to buy the game, and I'll have a good look then.

Play Song Association or Kev Carmody gets it. OK, I might be bluffing, but I might be desperate too.

Seriously, red text looks very dark gray to me. It's close enough to black that I usually miss it, or else I have to magnify the text until it looks like a 6 year old writing with crayon.

Italic or underline or slightly larger size or anything that does not rely on color alone works. Blue works for me. Purple is the same as blue. A slightly orangey red, or a medium brown, would stand out to me.

Still, thanks again for this info.
I am sorry that I did not consider colour blindness. I have changed the updates to be in brown italics instead (but no updates yet). I hope this helps.

Great write up Vell. CoE looks like an awesome concept for an MMO, lets hope that unlike so many other MMOs that had great concepts and ideas they actually stick to them and release the game they want.
(Sadly far too many MMOs lately have aimed high initially and then ended up losing their vision and ending up just another same old boring shell of the game initially pitched).

Concerns aside, I've registered (using your code) and will be keeping a close eye on it as development progresses. Games, especially MMOs need way more innovation like this in the marketplace. We have more than enough 'theme-parks' and wannabe sandbox MMOs out there, it's time for something amazing, different and new!

For those following (or not following) there's been a few Developer Journals that have shed some light on the world in crafting etc.... I highly recommend a read!

I've seen too many promising MMORPGs over the last two decades that changed course during development, failed to deliver on their promises or completely messed up the game, so I refuse to let myself get excited even though Chronicles of Elyria has, on paper, almost every feature I always dreamed to see in a sandbox MMORPGs.

I am keeping a cautiously optimistic eye on this one, if they can deliver 50% of this and not mess up too much on the other half, count me it.

From what I understand, their Design Journals are based on what they have in their test environment for the most part, considering the articles are often supported by screenshots which are from in-game and not photoshopped... so I hazard it is likely going to function as they've advertised.

We'll see. Forgive me for my skepticism. I'm thinking about Embers of Caerus, and Chronicles of Narnia... no, wait, that one got up in the end.

I got on the IRC chat with Caspian (dev) and confirmed.

Screenshots are from in-game as currently enabled. Majority of each Design Journal's talking about features are already in the client but may not necessarily be actively hooked up to interact with. IE: code committed but not finalized or for the lesser case it is in the design spec for implementation and accepted to be implemented. Just not done due to needing other factors completed first.

If they even get half the features in, I'm excited for it still, so long as the aging / dying and reborn to continue your character development is still in.
