    Default New Tinkers Construct Math

OK So anyone who is playing with the more recent editions of Tinkers Construct would know there is some odd math going on with handle durability and modifiers, so I have copied the stats into a spreadsheet with mining levels in colour. Black being stone, grey iron etc etc.

I admit, its a mess, so I have added this. It will not tell you attack damage or mining speed but needless to say they are even less accurate then what the density stats say; unless someone else can figure out why my fully bronze broadsword has an attack of 5.5 & durability of 694.

Either way I sorted it by final result.

Sponge looks tasty yeah? Of course there is a catch. It gains silk touch but does 0 damage so cannot be used for weapons. They have also gotten rid of the Obsidian alloy known as Alumite and given straight obsidian stats for a pickaxe head. It is the only one you can go to the nether and harvest nether ores with also, Steel & Bronze have both been nerfed to match.
With the introduction of purple slime islands has introduced a new alloy known as Knightslime; 1 iron, 1 purple slime ball & 4 seared stone will yield 1 knightslime ingot. Without additional mods (like botania for prismarine) this alloy currently has the highest damage stat of any overworld weapon; the mattock isn't friendly either.

But what about removing the head from the equation?

    Resorted & done.

    Enjoy

OK so far I have noticed that i broke the extra durability on steel. Added an extra 0 which has seriously affected its outcome If there are more mistakes, I will eventually update.

Another thing that I have noticed is that plates are considered part of the head. This is nothing new for those who have been patiently watching the icons change in the book, however it is not immediately obvious as it does not have the words 'head' or 'blade' attached to its name.

Notes: you can use sharpening kits to give low materials the ability to mine hard stuff - e.g. obsidian sharpening kit on that bronze pick might be a better choice...

I think there is some sort of indication in a hover over (might be on the specific material page?) that cycles through the parts it applies to - so for 'head' it should cycle through the heads and plate.

Very nice, I'll have to have a look - might be useful for finding that tool that fits the bill best.

Oh, and moss is a thing again - you make the mossy thing and then click on a bookshelf with 8 levels of xp, apply to tool and it gets regen. Not sure how you 'charge it' with xp, but it seems to regenerate anyway? Good for my cobalt items, otherwise it might get expensive to repair.

Yeah the OP was kind of dated.
