That the Steam Summer Sale starts tomorrow.
I wonder if its a good little birdy, or a bad one...
Note to self: Lock credit card in timelocked safe before coming home tomorrow.
This times a bajillion
I have at least 30 games on Steam bought in various sales that I haven't played, or have played only half an hour of.....
Time to shoot the little birdy - obviously a double agent seeding misinformation.
My Grandmother lived for sales, and looking at my Steam game list - 200+, clearly it's hereditary.
What manner of game I'll play for 3 minutes will I buy now!
They're saying the 23rd now lol.
I still have shadowgrounds survivor from last years sale, never installed
Shoot them again!
THAT LIEING BASTARD!
With Steam sales I have learnt to do the following:
Is it a good game? If YES Goto to 2 Else Goto 7
Do I want the game? If YES Goto to 3 Else Goto 7
Are my friends/toggers playing it? If YES Goto to 4 Else Goto 7
Is it worth the money? If YES Goto to 5 Else Goto 7
Will I play it for more than 5 minutes? If YES Goto to 6 Else Goto 7
Buy It - Exit
Dont Buy It - Exit
What generally happens with Steam Sales however:
Did I read somewhere that someone liked it? If YES Goto to 2 Else Goto 7
Do I want another game? If YES Goto to 3 Else Goto 7
Might my friends/toggers also think about buying it? If YES Goto to 4 Else Goto 7
Is it on sale for minimum 50% off, or < $10? If YES Goto to 5 Else Goto 7
Will I intend to play it for more than 5 minutes sometime in the next 5 years? If YES Goto to 6 Else Goto 7
Buy It - Goto 8
Dont Buy It - Goto 8
Exit - Go back to playing one of the three Steam games (out of 100+) you regularly play
Nice get out of jail card there - 5 years!! LOL
Apparently he was going off what time it was last year, so I guess its "expected" nowabouts anyway.
I havent played the games i bought in the xmas sale yet
Shhhh I'm not telling my wallet that!
(well, not ALL of'em.)
I have games I bought in the Christmas sale 2 years ago I haven't played yet!
(Ghostbusters I'm looking at you!)
Doesn't help that here in NZ we have horrible data caps (60Gb a month here both up and download) and any more is really expensive
I have finished all games bought during the xmas sale so I am looking forward to this. Brink turned out to be a short lived interest and L4d seems dead so I have been playing BFBC2 lately (how sad).
So IF the summer sale finally arrives, what game is the one to get? I might even be interested in a single player game since Mafia II turned out to be really enjoyable.
Nothing i want yet but i think it has begun now
Steam Summer Sale SavyGamer
I'm looking at Rage PhatFreD (though no idea how it will turn out). It does look purdy though!
If Battlefield 3 can capture everything I loved about BF2 then that will certainly capture my interest. The Bad Company games, while a pleasant diversion were not the real deal in this regard - I want my wide open spaces!
Dear oh dear I've gotten sidetracked, you were talking about the summer sale and these aren't out yet! I'm not sure if your tastes run to RPGs but I recommend The Witcher if so - you can play it over the shoulder using WASD which feels quite visceral, and it's a solid game. I haven't played its sequel yet but the original is on Steam for $20.
No valve pack for us aussies because the valve pack has L4D 2 uncensored in it
