If TOG go for DC, I will gladly joining you guys
I've voted for DC. I think overall they have the most balanced races, so in the long term there is something for everyone. (ignoring that preorders can play any race and any faction)
AD have by far the best starting area, but I can see that faction been dominated by rangers and mages. They don't seem to have a race that is a stand out "tank" class.
Anyway, that is my 5 cents.
I ended up buying the imperial edition so I can roll on any faction without having to fight against my own race.
I voted AD for the Wood elves but after playing it DC is a really fun and a beautiful starting area and i enjoyed the quest lines in DC more then the others.
That's a good point. Having a poll in the members only area might net different results.
Any race is going to be valid for any role. Khajit have a health regeneration bonus, and the bosmer boosts to stamina and poison/disease resistance are going to be very nice for tanks too.
If anything, I'd say it's the best alliance to roll a tank in because there will be so many sorcerers and nightblades initially due to people not thinking outside the box; tanks are always in demand but they'll probably be like gold dust in AD. If we go AD I'm rolling a bosmer templar and yeah, I see no reason why she shouldn't tank.
Agree... that is an interesting question...
Also, is there a reason to continue discussion or to hold conversations in two forums?
Nightblade and Sorcerer can tank as well. Lightning Form and Bound Armor from Sorcerer lends then self well to tanks, and so does Siphoning Strikes and Blur from Nightblade.
Nice to meet you all! I've had the opportunity to test the game last beta. Went in with the wave of negative reviews in my head, but oh-my! I love it! I really enjoyed the earlier levels.
So far I've only tried High Elf Templar (resto/dual axe) and Bosmer Nightblade (bow), and I loved those races and environment. So I voted for AD. I kinda like the cultural/political tough those high elves have.
I will be rolling a Red Guard or Imperial templar regardless of what faction is chosen. I like the idea of tanking as a templar but if I end up in a group with a battle mage in heavy armor I would be more than willing to equip the cloth and restoration staff and go healer templar.
As far as the vote goes, I was not able to cast my vote until I logged in.
Just a note that the potentially huge Gaiscioch guild (http://www.gaiscioch.com/) is going Ebonheart.
They went through a game evaluation process which resulted in the community deciding to go next to ESO, and then decided Ebonheart was their alliance.
I'm not familiar with their site so this is not the actual announcement, but references it: ESO Info
Had to go Aldmeri. As it stands right now, its the best starting zone. The quests aren't spread out as much like the other two. I played all three factions to level 10+ and had the easiest time in AD. Maybe its something that will be addressed before release.
At least its tied to the account and not the individual character. I'm sure ToG will be in all the factions because of all the altoholics we have. It just comes down to which side has the largest pool of players at any given time.
There's a preferred faction poll up at Massively:
Leaderboard: What's your preferred Elder Scrolls Online faction? | Massively
So far they're a lot closer than I expected, with EP and AD nearly equal and DC just slightly behind.
All three factions are pretty much even in most polls which is great to see.
Tamriel Foundry ? An ESO fansite and forum dedicated to discussing mechanics, theorycrafting, and guides for The Elder Scrolls Online.
They show more people in DC, then AD, then EP.
Hey TOG'ers... it's been awhile (damn kids lol).
Voted Daggerfall but really dont care. Server instance having high pop during Oceanic primetime is much more important to me. Guess we just waiting on an illustrious leader to take the reigns & lead the way
Ty for all the info and esp to cahiry for the link to esohead skill calc.
I will likely start as a Bosmer Wood Elf of the Aldmeri ..
see you when the game is out.
Hey guys, I closed this poll. The topic is still a good discussion topic, but some of you have expressed wanting to change their choice, and we have a myriad of EU and NA players voting in this. We will open up a new poll within the division forums after the next beta, and these new polls will be a little more direct.
I am keeping the topic open, as it is still a good discussion.
Please don't consider the final results of this poll to be a part of any final decision.
But But But...... I still claim that AD WON
