    Hello All,

I'd like to request membership to TOG. I've read the AUP/TOG FAQ and I'm over 25 (38 actually).

I decided to try my hand at MMORPGs for the first time by joining World of Warcaft. Some friends, both new and old, recommended this community to me and to sign on to the Proudmoore realm. So I'll be roaming that realm as a Human Paladin named Chayton.

I've played video games since my uncle's family got one of the first 2600's. I then got my hands on a Apple IIc (I believe) and played Wizardy I whenever I could. After that I played all sorts of games on my C64, not the least of which were some of the early Ultima games. From there I moved on to PC games and I currently like playing single person FPS or racing games. Although I'm really enjoying KOTOR right now. But, like most of you probably, finding the time to play the games can be difficult

So I'm a MMORPG noob but I'm looking forward to it. I've only heard good things about WoW so far.

And, by the way, I'm 38, married with two kids and live in southeastern Virgina, USA. I'm an IT manager during the week and crew chief on a NASCAR Late Model Stock Car on the weekends. (Yeah, I know, how'd those two occupations get together?!?!)

I guess that's about it. If you need anymore information, just let me know.

    Thanks,
    Stephen

    G'day mate. Welcome to TOG.

Your application looks to be in good order, so once the admin weenies have shaken off the effects of the Christmas pudding and custard (Matron used far too much brandy again this year), they'll wave the weenie wand of wonder over your application. I still haven't figured out how it works, but it will then allow you to access the private forums.

When you have access to the private forums, check out the forum of the game of your choice, and read the stickies in there. They give you all the good oil on what voice comms programme they use, how to set it up, when the guys tend to get together online and how to register (if required) for any teams. It will also give you a stack of other info that will help you out.

If you find that you are having difficulties setting anything up, just ask for help in the appropriate forum, and someone will help you as soon as possible.

Just remember that you decide how much, or how little, you want to be involved.

Why not check out the Penpal thread in the Lounge forum once you have access. It has a stack of short bios on some of the members, and you might even decide that you want to put up a short one of yourself in there.
