Gotta say boys the first impressions of this game.. its legit. Back to the good ol days of a good FPS shooter.

Now only if there was an easy way to kill them snipers..

I feel the same way, DICE has learnt their lesson imo. This game blends the fast-paced nature of the past few Battlefields with more traditional Battlefield mechanics. DICE done good.

I don't even rage when I get shot by snipers over and over -- better than dying to a god damn UCAV, Airburst, Gunship or Cruise missile!

Good to see snipers back to their rightful place as the kings of scumbags! :D

Snipers hiding on a rock 3 miles away can be smashed in the face with the Assault anti-tank rocket.

Not quick to deploy though, gotta lie prone, but worth the effort.

I also like the way everything has been slowed down - i.e. Aircraft.
Dog fighting in these slower planes is much more fun than it was in BF3/4.

At first I wasn't sure I was going to like BF1 as much as some of the others but I have changed my mind...
I ditched the old "girlfriend" (BF4) and I'm now enjoying getting to know the knew one...

I saw my first Fairfight(?) ban today, however...

I hated the UCAV...never bothered to unlock it...
I'm also happy there aren't any helos...Never got over my BF3 experiences...

The dying doesn't bother me that much in BF1, probably because it doesn't contribute to the enemy win...
And yes, I am more reckless now as a result...:p

Tho jumping in a bomber as a gunner is like a box of chocolates...
You never know what you are going to get...
Hint, watch the icon for more than 5 seconds, and if it doesn't crash, you got a good chance of surviving for 15 seconds...
Can't wait until the proper game comes out with joystick support...
Not going to bother until then...

    RE: snipers...
The sniping mechanics in this franchise is fantastic, so there may be more scumbags...I mean snipers...than ever before...

A big thumbs up for BF1...

After a few quick rounds yesterday,I gotta say I like it. After putting in a new graphics card, BF1 set everything to ultra and the environment looks really nice.Especially the weather effects like the sandstorm.

Been a couple years since I have really played any FPS, on my PC, which likely needs an upgrade.
My impressions are it has been fun getting back into it, but some of my typical gripes with Dice.
Seems a heavy focus on Snipers (whats new...) and vehicles feel a little OP at moment, although that is likely also that people are unsure how to take them down, and could be also related to lack of unlocks.

Biggest gripe for me at moment is Bindings. Not using a standard wasd layout, means everything screwed for me when it comes to anything other than being on foot.
If I jump in a vehicle, my current button layout doesn't work, and I exit vehicle automatically as I use E for moving forward. I also automatically put on my gas mask? it seems to keep the old mappings even though I change them for individual layouts, Foot, Vehicles etc. so even though I use esdf for movement, it still seems to be bound to wasd.

Hopefully this will be fixed in actual game when released, for now its better I just RUN FOREST RUN...

The esdf issue is well known and reported in the BF1 beta feedback/ bug report site.

T is the key for the gas mask

my new favourite toy = cavalry. there's nothing more satisfying than jumping on a horse, going in behind enemy lines and lopping off snipers' heads with my trusty sabre. As Lawrence of Arabia said 'take no prisoners, take no prisoners!!!' :)

Just a note on cavalry, you are actually more vulnerable while ON the horse. While on the horse you can be killed like a normal infantry, once you jump off, you are very tough to take down.

    Pros:
    - The equivalent of about 300-400% HP
    - Primary gun that does 80% damage body shots and one shot kill headshots (smashes snipers)
    - Med packs and ammo packs
    - Ammo packs instantly replenish your anti-tank grenade so you can take down tanks
    - Sword will kill normal infantry in 2 hits (55 damage), elites in 3 hits.

    Cons:
    - Instantly dies to most explosives, bayonet charge or melee, tanks etc.
