I didn't realise the snipers had a trench shield and a helmet decoy... Funny stuff. I thought buildable emplacements like the trench shield would be better with the support class.

Support should have sandbags, buildable machine gun emplacements and so on.

Just a rumor but, DICE may be changing server rentals. Could be a bad thing for TOG.

So we'd be able to do basic things like limit weapons and change maps. However we don't know if we can do things like kick based on ping, manually kick hackers, kick for players abuse, have private servers for events and so on.

    Call me Mr Scumbag....
I'm gunna luv the sniper trench shield and decoy!
I used the decoy with good effect in BF4, though it will work differently in BF1...

And yes, the support class should have gotten "lobster armour"...

I think it is literally a helmet on a stick? I hope so!! Snipers wars across trenches with decoys sounds fun.

It appears to be a helmet on a stick that an enemy can spot. Would be good to deploy, move, wait for enemy to spot and commence fire, pop up and smack him while he's focused on your decoy.

The decoy helmet might still light up as a spot though...
Can't have too much reality in BF games...
    (spawning on a recon box...<chuckle>)
Well Dice never said they were creating simulations, and good on them...

I suspect snipers with trench shields will leave each other alone and concentrate on other infantry...
I wonder what the counters to the shield will be apart from vehicles/planes...

    Marbleduck's thoughts on beta...

I don't think the map was that bad. There is nothing wrong with spending 20 seconds running between flags and it makes scouts/medics much stronger.

I think the Medic class will require some more play by most to work out how to best utilise it - for instance, I didn't know until the beta ended that Medic can be equipped to repair vehicles. Not knowing how many new players tried the franchise for the first time and assault being the default, not surprised it was #1. I mostly ran assault because I couldn't be bothered changing to anything else.. :p

Also not surprised about the usage of the Scout class, I'm hoping that PTFO scoring moves some of them to other classes on release.

Dunno, other than tanking and Cavalry class (which was broken), my highest scores and KDR were with medic. Once I unlocked the Selbstlader sharpshooter, the class felt powerful and dangerous.

I don't think the wrench was in the Beta, I tested every melee weapon as a repair tool and none worked. It made me think the little tank symbol in the melee descriptions means it can damage armor? I even checked the settings in case there was a special repair key, but saw none.

I actually think the support class should have been the repairer class. It would suit that "support" role more.

    EEElite class! D'oh!

Duck is obviously an action junkie...
A very good one but it colours his perspective...
    Produces tunnel vision...

Takes you 30 minutes to get to the flag? :biglol:
Those who don't have excellent twitch reflexes like him can and do enjoy a more strategic/mature approach...

I had no problem with the distances between the flags...
And enjoyed the E flag though if you had a filled squad tank I could feel the hate if you took it there rather than faster point collecting flags...

This guy makes a few good points... I don't think the map needs tons more content -- players need to spend time moving between flags.
