Geez, that's looking an awful lot like a PTW model if it's not a troll.

    M320 in WW1?!

an apprentice of yours mug nice grand master thongs +1

well ive played what matters BF2,3,4

and this is whats needed for BF5

1: the gun ship needs the axe and sent back to narnias troll BUT NO instead remember calling in BF2 for a vehicle drop >?< oh yeah but we need to get bigger maps for the HUM V drops where 1-2 squads can move to more capture points thus increasing player count to 80 players ie EXTREME WAR MODE WHERE COUNTRIES CAN FIGHT OVER COUNTRIES AUSTRALASIA V'S ETC .... the HUM V cannot be locked because it falls UNDER THE RADAR SCOPE !!!

2: BF3 not much to say but great game play speed ...

3: BF4 just the right amount of tech to satisfy enthusiasts

4: The ability to manipulate flags and take away tech to compensate on map designs as if your playing bf4 right now there are many maps running kit restrictions SO THE ADMINS MUST HAVE KIT CONFIGURATORS ... AND LESS WTF I GOTTA DO WHAT TO PLAY AND OH HELL I LOST POINTS OH WHAT I GOT BANNED ......ASWELL AS HAVE PLAYER VOTE POWERS FOR KIT CONFIGURATIONS FOR THE GRINDERS !!! C4 TANGO, SMAW BULLET, MUG SOFLAM ETC ...

FROM LOOKING AT THE RELEASE VIDEO THE ONLY GAMEPLAY WE CAN SEE IS WHEN THE SOLDIER KILLS 2 INFANTRY AND A GREEN GAS IS RELEASED .... TO ME THIS LOOKS LIKE SOLID GAMEPLAY AND HAS ME HYPED AND SOUNDS LIKE THE GRIND HAS BEGUN

    IN THE END WAR IS

    ADADPT OVERCOME CONQUOR

I'm a tecky i'll miss BF4 as it is now a good game its just the maps have been flogged and a little undersized and un configured

NO COMPARING APPLES TO ORANGES HL BATTLEFRONT ARE NOT TRUE BATTLEFIELD GAMES AND WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE IF BF1 WILL BE ???

Apparently these are the map names for vanilla.

    Asiago Offensive (Italian Alps Map)
    Gaza Sands (Desert Map)
Siege of Damascus (I'd assume desert-urban...?)
Stalemate (Sounds like a Flanders fields kinda deal)
ANZAC Cove (Sounds like Gallipoli, I'd assume that 'D-day map' LevelCap mentioned and the one with the Battleship ruining the coastline)
    Garden Twilight (No idea)
Argonne Shade (Probably the forrest map we saw in the trailer)
Operation Castlewick (No idea either, maybe references something in campaign?)
Scorched Earth (Sounds Western or Eastern Front...?)

I love his description of Star Wars: Battlefront:
"The only reason that game sold 12 million copies was that it had Star Wars in the title. That game was the garbage. That game was the prettiest, best sounding fat steamy pile of shit that I have ever played"
    I couldn't put it better myself :)

The decisions that led to Hardline/Battlefront being the way it is are more about casualisation. They are catering to players who find FPS games too challenging (because aiming is hard, as we know).

Removal of the skill contest with lock-on anti-infantry weapons, removal of squads, removal of classes, the super fast health regen, making ability loadout, super fast TTK so you can spray/pray, and cooldowns matter more than aiming ability.

All of that is about making the game easier for new players and inexperienced players. Instead of making them stronger players, they just take steps to reduce the skill gap.

This makes games where there is little difference between the guy who has played for a week and the guy who played for a year.

As that guy said in the video:
Do not pray for an easier game, pray to be a stronger player.

This is getting close to why I ditched the BF series for years.

I started way back in Desert Combat days. Everyone had the same gear to choose from, there were no rank ups and no stats. With the single exception I remember (the player guided SAM missile) there was no guided weaponry. Guns killed you quickly. Skill (and to a lesser extent ping lol) was the differentiator. And it was awesome :)

I don't expect BF1 to retreat nearly that far, but I'll put up cheerfully with skins and the like if they take substantial steps in that direction :)

the crying shame and the point is you had the choice in bf3 / bf4. there are plenty of servers with specific rules regarding weapons, explosives and vehicles.
hardline and star wars and now bf1, you dont have the choice of all that skilless crap that ruins it for everyone.
that said (again...) i cant play now in the pubs unless im part of and in ts with a faithful crew. unless its at 4am when the real porgies come out to play.
long live tog and its ethos of fair play for all.
    mug.

I just noticed Origin has 30% off store wide so I thought it'd be a good time to Pre-Order Battlefield 1.

I was not surprised at all when the code didn't work, it was still worth a try :)

    A new bit of art!

Apparently they will be showing a ton of multiplayer footage on the 12th, so we'll know if the game is closer to Bad Company 2 (woohoo) or Battlefront (vomit in mouth) then...

We know DICE love their attachments! I want that gun that has a little gun in the hilt...

Here are a few of the weirder ones we might see...

This guy on Reddit made some predictions about what the map names might be. Who knows if he is even close to reality, but it's interesting to look at...

Surely the French should be in there though. I think scorched earth might be Verdun or the first French vs German battles where they saw heavy artillery action (like the one mentioned in the video above)
