    Ok well here goes
These are not in any order and there are probably more:

The Ring trilogy (original Japanese not the crappy yank remake)
    Mean Machine
    Ghost in the Shell
    Fight Club
    Big Trouble in Little China
    Blade Runner
    Akira
    Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead

I really love The princess bride too.
    Other note worthy movies include:
    Cube
    The Whole Nine Yards
    Any Kevin Smith movie
Oh Brother Where art thou ("my hair!")
    Snatch
    The Crow (poor Brandon)

    There are too many!

I HATED Wicked city it really pissed me off for some reason!

Everybody adds a movie I love...SR is good, I cant believe someone else has seen the hamlet guys are dead (I was trying to explain this movie to a co=worker last week).

Here is a great movie...Hard Boiled. It has the guy from Crouching tiger hidden dragon. Basicaaly take any 5 action flicks (rambo, terminator, etc) and this one movie has more bullets in it! It is a Asian movie so make sure to get the voice over one!

    Psst. Bennett.

I think the movie Cailith is referring to is Star Trek: First Contact. The one with the Borg. Excellent, excellent movie. Powerful performance by Patrick Stewart.

..'course, Patrick Stewart's presence in a shot just seems to draw the eyes to him - makes a movie, he does. :)

If I'm wrong, and Cailith is referring to some other movie called First Contact, then please totally disregard anything written by me in the above post.

I agree with most movies mentioned, but I just have to add "Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels".

There's way too many great movies to list... some movies are also brilliant the first time round but difficult to watch more than once e.g. Being John Malkovich. Army of Darkness on the other hand I can enjoy watching many times over :D

I just saw the Hulk, and thought it was one of the best comic to movie translations I've seen.

Just talking to crux and there is no particular limit on the movies you can list. He only picked 5 because these were the only ones that are the Best Movies Ever Made. e.g. A movie that you are willing to buy and have/intend to watch more than once.

A couple of more picks for me.

    Prince of Egypt (annimated)
    Hercules (Walt Disney)

Not sure why but I just seem to think annimated films make the best movies ...

Really? How would the Hulk compare with Spiderman in your opinion? Or the first Batman movie? (Michael Keaton)

I thought that the first Batman movie really captured the darkness of the Batman comics, while Spiderman did a great job communicating Peter Parker's naivety and wonder at his new powers, and the forced and accelerated growing-up process.

    Oh.. another classic movie.

    Tron.
